Are you a political candidate applying for endorsement from the Middle Tennessee Democratic Socialists of America?
An endorsement from the Democratic Socialists of America is very different from the typical political endorsement you’ve possibly already received. As a radically democratic and member-run organization, all of our endorsements are voted on directly by our 600+ members rather than by a leadership team or board of directors.
What this means for you as a candidate is that when we vote to endorse in a race, we are making an organizational commitment to mobilize in support of your campaign. That includes knocking doors, making phone calls, creating social media content, and organizing volunteers and organizers to your campaign if you decide to coordinate with us. We very rarely make any financial expenditures in support of our candidates, but what we lack in monetary support we make up in people power.
